1. Permits & Planning

Every pool removal project starts with proper permitting and planning. Havlick Services can handle the permitting process on your behalf if desired, including submitting plans and coordinating with the city. This stage also includes reviewing site conditions, confirming equipment access, identifying utilities, and planning the best approach for the job. Careful planning upfront helps avoid surprises and keeps the project on track.

2. Pool Equipment Removal & Preparation

Before demolition begins, pool equipment is disconnected and removed, including pumps, filters, electrical lines, and plumbing. Licensed electricians and plumbers handle utility disconnects, and utility providers are contacted to mark all underground gas, electric, water, and communication lines.

Site preparation includes clearing access routes and removing obstacles like fencing or low tree limbs to create safe paths for equipment. If the pool is near the house, saw cuts are made to separate the concrete deck from the foundation, protecting the structure from vibration and impact during demolition.

3. Demolition & Haul Off

Once the site is prepared, we begin the demolition process by breaking up the concrete shell, pool deck, and any associated structures. We use hydraulic hammers, breakers, and excavation equipment to safely and efficiently remove the pool.

Concrete, rebar, and debris are hauled off-site to an approved disposal facility — we never bury debris on the property. Clean, responsible debris removal is a critical part of the process to prevent future settling issues and ensure the area can be safely backfilled and reused.

4. Backfill, Compaction & Grading

After demolition and debris removal, the pool cavity is backfilled with clean fill material, typically a mix of soil and gravel, depending on site conditions. Proper compaction is one of the most important steps in this process. Without compaction, the ground can settle over time, leading to low spots or unstable soil where the pool once was.

We backfill in layers and compact as we go using mechanical compaction equipment to reduce air pockets and prevent future settling. Once the backfill is complete, we grade the area smooth to match the surrounding yard and ensure proper drainage.

Leander Pool Demolition & Removal

Havlick Services specializes in safe, efficent, pool demolition and removal in Leander, Texas and all surrounding areas.

Removing Pools in Leander

Many older pools across Central Texas are reaching the end of their lifespan. Cracked concrete, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), and shifting soil can leave pools leaking, unsafe, or too expensive to repair. Water restrictions, rising energy bills, and lifestyle changes often make keeping an unused pool more trouble than it’s worth.

Removing a pool the right way takes more than just heavy equipment—it takes careful planning to protect the surrounding yard, structures, and utilities.

Havlick Services delivers safe, efficient pool demolition and removal. We focus on clean removals, responsible debris handling, and respect for your property from start to finish.

What Our Customers Say

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need a permit to remove a pool in Leander?

Yes, a permit is required for pool demolition and removal in Leander. Permits are designed to protect homeowners by ensuring the work is done safely, by licensed contractors, and according to local regulations. They also provide clear documentation of the demolition, which can be helpful for future property sales or improvements.

2. How Much Does Pool Demolition and Removal Cost in Leander?

On average, pool demolition in Leander ranges from $15,000 to $25,000, depending on the size of the pool, access for equipment, and the amount of material needed for back fill. Limited access—such as small gates, tight yards, or nearby structures—can increase the overall cost. This range typically includes demolition, debris haul-off, back fill, and rough grading.

3. What Factors Affect the Cost of Pool Demolition and Removal ?

The biggest factors are pool size, equipment access, truck access, and the slope or layout of your yard. If we can’t get larger equipment close to the pool, the job takes longer and costs more because smaller machines or hand labor are slower. Larger pools also mean more concrete to break, haul away, and fill back in. Sloped lots, rocky ground, or long distances to reach the truck can add time and increase costs.

4. How Long does it take to Remove a Pool?

Most pool demolition and removal projects take 5 to 10 working days, depending on the size of the pool, access for equipment, and how much material needs to be hauled off and backfilled.
Tight access, sloped lots, or large pools can add time because smaller machines or extra labor may be required. Good truck access and larger equipment can speed up the process.
